GSS SERIES.pngFor the first half of February, I’m going to run a special content series just for you. Last winter, I had a rough go with seasonal depression, which was dramatically compounded by my diabetes burnout. I was recovering from a scary low that had triggered some intense anxiety, and it was taking longer for me to get over it than I could have ever anticipated. Because of this, I was in a freaky place of, “Is this gonna be forever?” a la David after the dentist. It sucked.

But, as with all shitty things, it eventually passed. I started admitting that what I was experiencing was not who I was, but how I was feeling. I opened up to my parents. I started seeing a therapist. I started thanking my body for what it was capable of every single day. And eventually I mustered up the strength to say “fuck you” to my anxiety, depression, and burnout.

Now here we are a year later, and I have so much I want to share with you guys. I know that so many of you are experiencing this as we speak, and just in the past year, I’ve learned so many ways to pull myself up by the bootstraps and move forward with my life.

And of course, the theme of this series, ooooobviously has to do with love because it’s everyone’s favorite love month. Each day until February 15th, I will post an idea for developing a sense of self-love and perspective, and challenge you to do the same – showing me with the hashtag #GimmeSomeSugarChallenge. The goal is to build a mindful movement about committing to yourself, and moving through the yuckiest months of the year together like the one big, happy, tribe we are. ❤️❤️
